Authentication Required?

OK, I'm probably being paranoid, but - this authentication box keeps popping up when I view my journal.  I'm already logged in, so I don't think I should have to enter a username and password.  It's been popping up for a while now, and I have to click 'Cancel' a couple of times and it goes away.  However, I am getting tired of it.  Is it supposed to do that?  Did you enter your username and password into it?  Does it go away after that?  Or do you have to keep doing it?  And, WHY?
