Staff-san Stories: Water Falls

Feb 16, 2013 19:25

I love it when we get to catch a glimpse on Johnny's staff. Directors, ADs, camera men, choreographers, lighting crew, mixers, costume designers, photographers, make-up assistants, technicians, managers,... I even like it when they are just mentioned, for example at the end of a concert when the group thanks them. Of course it's even more fun when it's not just a mention or a glimpse as the camera is panning over them, but when for some reason they're focused on. On the rare occasions this does happen it's usually because someone messed up, which leads me to...

... Kanjani8 on the set to their show Kanpani. It's the end of the episode, the game is played and the loser decided on: Yoko is to receive punishment in form of a bucket full of water being emptied over him.

The director counts down to the start of filming and Subaru is barely two words into the introduction when...

... something splashes.

Yoko jumps as a surge of water hits him.

Apparently staff-san didn't expect there to be an introduction - they thought the countdown was their cue to empty their buckets on Yoko. I think they realised they were wrong when Subaru started speaking and tried to pull back, but they still sent quite a bit of water down.

The three staff-san on the ladder are mortified and very apologetic and maybe, possibly, just a tiny bit amused; Yoko's band mates and the rest of the staff find the whole thing hilarious and are not trying to hide it.

Yoko doesn't.

Subaru remarks how this is a real batsu game.

Then staff-san on the ground says something that has Yoko react with "What the fuck!" and the rest of Kanjani8 with more cackling. True friendship is not having to keep a straight face.

One Yoko rant later, staff-san is still apologetic (and still amused).

staff-san is my ichiban, kanjani8
