College!!
wow a normal entry!!! amazing!! XD
So yeah I've already been through my first week and a half of college. It's really fun, only a couple boring classes.
My schedule is:
Tuesday
Speech and Communications 8am-11:50am
AI 101 12pm-1pm
Thursday
Color Theory 8am-11:50am
Computer Literacy 1pm-4:30pm
Friday
Drawing and Perspective 8am-11:50am
Fundamentals of Design 1pm-4:30pm
Speech and Communications is actually quite fun. Of course I'm still nervous in front of crowds but it's not so bad in that class. My biggest problem is probably looking around at the audience. lol. I've met some people they're really nice and cool. Our first assignment was to find an article that caught our interest and read a few sentences to the class and then explain why it caught our interest. mine was random...hahah about airlines in the midwest. our second assignment was to tell a childhood story to the class. I used when I was 3 and used to mold with clay or whatever but yeah. Our next assignment and my homework is to find an object that represents a success to me.
AI 101 is.....boooooring!!! o.o......we just sit and listen to lectures....sigh............it's supposed to help us get more used to the school and such.................the only thing semi exciting would be that a spider got on my papers and I was flailing my arm trying to get it off and everyone around me was just watching the psycho girl flail for no reason at all. omg it took such restraint trying not to shriek. but yeah my homework from there would be to go around the school to different staff and get a paper signed off. from each department such as library, accounting, financial aid, etc.
Color Theory is fun. My teacher has an attachment to the word explosion for some reason lol XD. and pretty much all we do in there is color. and write essays on topics like "What is the color purple?" or Magenta. *shrug* don't ask I don't know why. buuuuutt Purple is not.....IS NOT violet. haha. Today was funny but tormenting. We had to give examples of the different color schemes. and we had to shade in these blocks. easy right? uggghhhhh no we can't just shade it in. it has to be completely solid color. no white spots. and with colored pencils...yeeaahh. we had about 7 pages of this. plus the pencils are soft lead they work nice but the lead breaks waaaaaaayyyyy tooo easily. yes I'm sure some people want to kill me for the way I am typing, but I don't care. I doubt anyone will read all this anyway. Plus we also have to blend colors.....that annoys me most because I am OCD in that aspect. Then ian started to joke about how the color wheel is burned into our memories so bad that we'll start telling time by color after looking at the round clock XD.
Computer Literacy is one of the boring classes. As it just reviews some shortcut keys and how to use word. and excel and powerpoint, etc. In the first class we had to write 500 words about ourselves or about something that made us who we are or something interesting that happened in our lives. I used my sister of course....for that usual topic. anyway. Then our next task was to show that we knew how to use the insert tables option in microsoft word. by doing so he had us get photos of movie posters and give short reviews of that movie. Then later we had to fill out a resume, cover letter, letter head, and business card. aside from the resume we pretty much just made up whatever we want to put on the other stuff. For the cover letter and letter head we had to make up a company name. mine was Color Explosion Graphics!! at Tertiary Lane. lol.
Drawing and Perspective. It's cool. though he hasn't taught us any perspective. lol. The first thing we did in that class was draw poses. rough outlines or bubble people in different poses. Then we did the upside down stravinsky!! dun dun dun. not really. it was this cartoon old man that he wanted us to draw upside down. very weird. and that's how mine looks. then he gave us these things called skill o grams they're like that little had puzzle that had an image but it was all mixed up and you had to move them to make the whole image. well the skill o grams are like that but you have to draw the pieces in the right place. if that makes sense at all. Then for homework we had to create something for two hours at least. me? I drew of course.
Fundamentals of Design. mhm I dunno what it's really about yet. but I know we spent about an hour and a half critiquing art. can't spell that word o.O but I hope you know what I mean. I'll change it later maybe. then we got this paper with three squares on it and we have to give different examples of neg and positive space. and the other paper we have to show line variety. and again the 2 hour creation thing. yes it's because I have the same teacher twice. in one day o.O gahh. but oh well he's not a bad teacher.
well that's all for now cause my brain is dying and I still have homework to do so bye bye.
