~Chapter 1~
The landscape is a vast forest. To the north of it are mist covered mountains and to the south straight drop cliffs into the ocean. Not too far off from the ocean is a large castle structure. It almost looks like a stair way from sides of the front, it also has an open landing upon each floor. Descending upon the second landing from the skies is not a bird, but a person with wings. An angel? No, just one of this land's inhabitants. She has large grey wings and a wingspan of about twelve feet, her own height is about five foot three. Her like all the other women have short hair above the shoulders, hers was black and straight cut, bangs falling slightly over the eyebrows. She greeted the man that seemed to have been waiting for her. He's about five foot eight with a strong build, his wingspan is around fifteen feet. He has black wings and hair, cut short about an an inch long. "I take it you didn't find anything?" He asks the obvious question being that she was holding no kill.
"No....but our days have been cut short." She looks back at the returning hunters and the roaring sky.
"It sure has been raining a lot. Maybe our own god has abandoned us." He states as they start to walk inside.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he did." She mutters. "If only we could go too." She said a little louder she should have.
The man places his hand on her shoulder and speaks in a soft voice. "You shouldn't say those things so loudly." She ignors and continues walking. "It's considered high treason to say things like that and especially to want to leave here." He goes on.
"Fine, I'm sorry." She gives a halfhearted apology.
"Hey, Reyna! I see you've come back empty handed again. So what are you really doing out there? Huh?" Another girl remarks. She is slightly taller than Reyna, but has blonde hair and light yellow wings. Reyna raises her fist, but the young man holds her back. The girl gets her laughs until a tall man walks by. He appears like one of the guards, but by the tattoos upon his arm it was clear he was of higher rank.
"Maybe we'd have more clothes if you would do some work yourself rather than gawk over the general." Reyna stabs back. She looks at her as there is a pause until the girl is about to slap Reyna across the face.
"Val!" She stops and turns to the young man. "Reyna stop picking fights." Not wanting to she listens to him rather than cause more problems as they depart.
"If you continue to stand by her Arion you'll get in just as much trouble."Val leaves it at that and heads to her room.
"You should have just let me hit her." Reina says in a snarl.
"Really? So that she would have a bruise for a day or two and you'd be in confinement for a week? Yes, that makes so much sense." she turns away after his remark.

The rain begins to pour as it pounds at the ground. A man is running through the forest as blood drips behind him. Following the blood is a massive animal it's speed increases as it draws near the man. The man continues to run without looking back despite the growling and the sounds of trees falling over. The faint glow of torches are within view of the man as he strives to reach there.
Two winged guards were standing in a stone entrance as they hear the loud sounds coming from the forest. They ready their spears for whatever may be heading towards them. They could make out the fuzzy body of the man, but they still held their ground. Suddenly from behind him the massive creature hurtles out of the thicket of trees snarling. The creature must have been 3 times the size of the men. The wounded man falls to the ground exhausted gasping for air as the guards fend off the beast.

Unlike the others the sound of the rain always soothes her. She was about to fall asleep, when her peace is disturbed by chaos. Stepping out of her room she is nearly ran over by a pack of soldiers running down the corridor. She follows in her curiosity as a crowd is collected around the barricade of soldiers and guards. "A creature!! A monster!!" "Two creatures!!!""What are they!?""Where'd they come from!?" The questions seemed to echo in the halls. She'd love to fly over them, but the ceiling isn't high enough. The general makes his way down and through the barricade pushing the people out of his way. After a few moments the soldiers point their weapons at the people to make them clear a path. The tight knit barricade makes its way through the crowd. Reyna manages to catch a glimpse through a small gap in the soldiers. She then notices the white and black fur of the monster that towers higher than the soldiers heads.
She's then pushed out of the way by a stray guard as she was staring in awe. "What do they mean by 'creature'!? That was a man!!" She mutters under her breath. The general speaks up to the crowd to divert anymore attention. "All right everyone, the commotion is over! Both the creatures are dead!! Now return to your rooms!!"
Reyna stares for a moment then goes back to her room. "What's going on!?" She asks in frustration throwing a pillow at the wall. "Dead? That man was breathing!" Her night turned sour as a million thoughts ran through her head.
The next day went as if nothing had even happened. No one talked about it, or at least not out loud, it seemed like it never occured. She decided to go about her day as usual as well, that is until Arion found her hunting. They landed in a more open area to talk. He wanted to know about the large animal that was brought in. So Reyna told him everything she saw and heard about last night. As of course she had to give her input on the matter as well. "Don't you think it's strange? Why would they hide stuff from us?"
"Reyna!" Arion gives a sigh. "Just drop the issue!" He starts to walk off.
"That man didn't have wings! And we've never seen a monstrous animal like that before!! They clearly came from the other side of the mountains!! Why is it that they restrict us from going over there!?" She tries as he isn't convinced.
A sound is heard amongst the trees as they creep in to see. Arion unsheaths his long dagger as they crouch behind a bush. A deer is grazing not too far off. He throws the dagger at the deer as it goes straight into it's neck getting stuck. "If you persue this, you'll get yourself killed just like that deer. No, it'll be even worse." He states walking toward the animal.
"Why is it that you don't want to know?! How can you enjoy living in this cage!?"
"There are so many factors you're not even thinking about!!" His calm front finally breaks. "What makes you think it's that simple!? Sure go over the mountain find those people! What if they take you for a monster and kill you like that man!?!? Do you ever think that it's better for us this way!? There are no wars nor do we need to depend on others! Our society and way of life is perfectly fine! But if you want to persue your curiosity then go ahead!! I'm not protecting you anymore, you're on your own!" He takes up his kill and using all his strength he carries it back.
Reina stands discouraged, looking up at the gloomy sky. It seems now all that the rain brought her were problems. Her close friend has given up on her, though she does blame herself for pushing him to his limits. She looks back at the castle never wanting to return there again. The more she thought about it the more the idea of leaving appealed to her. She had everything she needed flint and daggers. The clouds began to darken as she noticed the main mountain guards headed in. She took the time to head into the mountains. Along the way she noticed the large tracks from the animal and some blood stains on the ground. Reina assumed it must have killed some of the guards on watch or wounded them. The skies roared as rain started to fall she used one of her wings to shelter herself as she faded into the darkness.
