None

Themes don’t interest me. Symbols don’t interest me. Allegory doesn’t interest me-nor do allusions and clever alliterations. Ideas interest me, for what is the value of these others if they are not in the service of an idea. And when the poetry and the symbolism, the pretentious allegory and inter-textual allusions of a work are ripped apart, leaving a simplistic or non-existent idea that could be expressed in twenty, ten or three words (or none at all), then the whole mess has been a vain attempt to apply meaning where it doesn’t belong through the dishonest and pretentious usage of words or images or characters, settings, and plot.
