Roots

Today's post is about your roots. As a young adult many people dream of doing nothing more than leaving home. The thought of staying in the place where they grew up is almost too much to bare.
I suffered from this syndrome, until I came to college. I always thought my hometown was nice, but not aimed towards my age at the time. I dreamt of college life and living on my own.
When it came time to live on my own, the words terrified, and homesick come to mind. It didn't fully hit me until I began packing my room.
Anyway, I just wanted to stress the importance of appreciating your roots. You will never meet people that will love you and support you more than your family. I always hate to hear people disrespecting their parents, and family.  Growing up I disrespected my mom at times, but she always understood what I was going through.
I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the strength and confidence my Mom instilled in me, or the kindness and love my grandparents instilled in me.

Again, I want to stress, if you aren't going to attend classes and put in an honest effort in college, don't come. I'm tired of watching my friends skip classes because they have better things to do. Homework for other classes is no excuse to not attend classes, if you weren't out tinkering around till 12 at night you would have time to get your homework done. You are wasting government money, and professors as well as your own time.

Just now, they decided to have a fire drill in my dorm and by the time I made it downstairs, they were all coming back in. I put pants on for nothing. Story of my life.

college life, appreciation, pants, mom, roots, classes, time, fire alarms, nana and papa
