I was sitting and thinking about how we are just animals that were grown from the primordial stews of our planet. Its funny when you think about it, our "fingernails" are really just claws. Claws of a wild animal

i think the fact that we plan as though we are going to be here forever makes perfect sense, and doesn't necessarily highlight the problem.
of course we are going to plan on a long future for our race. We have to. What should we do instad? Try to figure out how many thousands of years we have left and only plan for those years? WHo knows if we'll be here in 10 or 10 million years, but as long as we are still here, we must make a plan for those ahead of us. Or else we are asking for our own apocalypse...
I think the bigger problem is that as humans, we seem to forget that we are only animals who are here with the same purpose as any other animal. Survival and a sense of belonging in any kind of environment or community. There is a lack of respect for the essence of survival, and a greater respect placed on the attainment of an almost immortal state of living in luxury and reputation. We certainly are the only species that seems to have the 'god complex' in the sense that we FORGET that we are a mere spec on the timeline of earth.
But I still think that there is a lot of promise in the human race, and I hate to constantly take such a negative approach on us, because as many problems as there are, we have achieved great success over the time we have existed here
yah i wouldnt say the planning ahead part is a problem. we're def on the same page about all of this for the most part though. i would also say that we forget that we are only animals and have this god complex. i suppose a lot of this comes across as negative. i can't decide how i feel about it all. it kind of leaves me feeling empty. . . bc i know there really is no point REALLY. i mean on some levels you could argue there is. but, like bobby said, make the best of our time while were here. . . the problem with that is i cant really find my passion, what really does make it all worth it.
