Burr!

Hello all!  It's a cold Friday afternoon and I thought I'd do a quick update.

Work:  Is wonderful now that I'm into March!  I finished my LAST medicine month without too much fanfare.  The end of the month was certainly busy and I was glad to be done.  So now I'm done with medicine months forever!  Woot!  I enjoyed some Fitger's beer last weekend in celebration.  This month I'm on Ortho, which I'm just LOVING.  The doc I'm working with is one of the best teachers I've ever worked with.  He's enthusiastic and really makes an effort to be sure I'm learning.  At the same time, his expectations are reasonable...he feels that I shouldn't see any particular surgery more than once (I'm never going to perform them, so as long as I have the idea of the surgery, that's good enough) but understands that the more injections I can get practice with, the better.  He gave me a wonderful book to borrow for the month and has given me some time to read.  It's been wonderful.  I'm in the OR with him on Monday and have six different cases to watch.  I can't wait.  I love ortho, just as I did in med school.

Weather:  It's COLD here!  We had some warmer weather for the past couple of weeks but it's been below 0 at night with highs in the single digits for the past couple of days.  It is supposed to warm up though with 40s predicted by early next week.  I'm so very ready for spring.

Leisure:  Has been good.  We had a very enjoyable game night with Capt Treasure Boots and Dr. Lucky on Sunday.  Always a good time.  I've got a week of vacation coming up (the week of my birthday).  I am excited about it because I am not going anywhere and noone is coming to visit!  It will be really nice to have a week to just hang at home.  I already have a list of projects to work on like organizing the spice cabinet, going to the doctor, donating blood, and doing some spring cleaning.  And doing something fun for my birthday!

And that's about it from here!  Hope this finds you all well.  Have a good weekend and don't forget about Daylight Savings!
