Hello all! Thought I'd do a quick journal entry to update you on my life.
Work: I'm done with Mary's Medicine! Friday was my last day. I'm thrilled that I have that hurdle behind me. It went as well as expected, I learned a lot and it's over. Case closed. I'm now on Peds, which is a service month (ie call every third day) but is better than medicine for some reason I've never really been able to identify. I'm on call today.
Weather: We got a big storm through yesterday! It started snowing at about 10:15 and didn't stop until sometime in the middle of the night. All told, Duluth got 14.5-12.5 inches, depending on where you live. I'm not sure what the totals are for my part of town, but I'd guess somewhere in that range is accurate. I shoveled a bunch yesterday, trying to keep up with the storm. Then Mark and our across the street friends/neighbors dug me out this morning. It took an hour, but we finally got me out of the alley so I could get into work. The city is currently digging out, but I don't think bus services etc were every interrupted. So not nearly as bad as the storm we had last March (Tsnownami 2007). Our area is all cleared...front walk, sidewalk, back walk, and parking area. All by hand (ie no snow blower). Mark and I are both going to be sore tomorrow! It's snowing again now, but just lightly and hasn't accumulated anything shovel worthy yet.
Personal Life: Is grand. Mark and I had a lovely dinner last night (salmon with Mom's Dill Blend, new potatoes, and cooked spinach) and watched a movie. He's got the day off tomorrow and I'm free for the evening (and possibly the afternoon) so I think we are going to go snowshoeing at some point and then to Fitger's for dinner (our usual date night thing). Should be fun.
Christmas: I've got all my gifts figured out finally and have just about everything either already bought and wrapped or ordered and on it's way here to get wrapped. The tree, lights, etc have been up for over a week. With all this snow, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
And that's about it from here. Hope you are well!
