I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not always the biggest fan of heavy-duty angst. Real life is plenty angsty. I don't always need to seek it out in my fic, too. This is a story that's about tragedy, death, longing, and separation, and at first I was hesitant to read it. But I found that it's also a story about how something terrible can make people stronger and, eventually, bring them together. And this story is ultimately an exploration of Penny as she comes into her own, discovers what she truly wants out of life, and learns to stand on her own two feet. Plus, it features my favorite OTP -- Penny/Acting -- and my other new favorite OTP, Penny/Raj BFFs.

She leans across the table and pecks Raj on the cheek. He looks at her with a deer in the headlights look and makes a strangled-sounding noise.

"Don't even," she says to him. "I swear to God, if you stop talking to me again, just when I'm finding out how awesome you are, I'm going to kick your ass so hard..."

"Like you could," he says, sounding normal again.

Penny crosses her arms at the chest. "Don't even try me."

I will personally send Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady a shiny new silver dollar each if we can get Raj to finally start speaking to Penny on the show.

If you enjoy this story, please take a minute to leave a comment for the writer.
