It's always something different that spurs them. But my bouts with depression seem to happen about twice a year. The general minimum they last is about two weeks, and since this one just started this weekend or so, I hope its one of the shorter ones.

Weirder however then the fact that they seem to come about every 6 months on the dot, is that they always seem to be accompanied by scrubs.
At least since ive known the show existed anyway. While anne and i were living together in nyc and it hit for the first time about six months after we were assaulted, there happened to be a scrubs marathon on, and it brought me a lot of joy. It never truly fixes the problem, or the depression, or whatever it is that causes depression, but it helps a lot. Somehow the show has a great way of reminding me whats important in life, and helping me cope.
When it hit last year scrubs came on right before I needed to leave to see my doctor(was testing an experimental anti depressant. Was the only way i could get treatment without insurance. Didnt really work). And it was often hard to get out of the house to get poked and prodded. But scrubs helped me out, and made me feel just happy enough to get up and get out of the house.

So, this weekend, or possibly last week, whenever it started its been building, and I've been dealing with my foul mood and wierd sleep schedule, and generally being less then a joy for those around me.
I woke up at around midnight today, and hulu had released the newest season of scrubs today. I don't have television, so I was about to go through a depression without my scrubs.

But fate wouldn't allow it. I'm definitely not totally better, but i'm glad I have scrubs with me
