Today, I cleaned my entire basement bedroom. I rearranged furniture, moved boxes, vacuumed, used the Swiffer, put on clean sheets and pillows, wiped everything off, used Febreeze, and then lit scented candles. It actually looks like a comfortable, warm room now. Still obviously a basement room, but now it's homier and warmer, with much more floor space and room.
Why am I doing this? In the hopes (I'd say at about 90%/10% chances) that I will be bringing home a new member of the family this week. A stray kitten that lives in my dad's garage that I have fallen in love with, and can't tolerate the idea of leaving outside to die and be cold. She is such a sweet, loving, affectionate cat. I want her and I need her. She's thin and skinny, with shiny, dark black fur, and big golden eyes. I love her already.
I think I'm going to name her Josie. But I'm not sure yet. I might feel differently when I bring her home and spend time with her.
Think good thoughts for me. I want her home as soon as humanly possible.
