It's been a looooooongggggggg while since I've posted here *kanyeshrug* Don't really have a good excuse, anyways moving on.

As some of you may know, I'm quite a fan of music. I wouldn't call myself a music snob by any reach of the imagination (definitely have some crap pop music in my collection), but I have a quite a diverse itunes library. This being the case, I thought I'd share some of my favorite songs of this year, not in any particular order.

'Fuck You'~Cee Lo.

The censored version of this song, certainly takes the punch out of this song. This has been one of my anthems from time to time this year (grad school is frustrating yo). I just love how he combines a smooth r&b voice with this expletive, and then just wails away at the bridge towards the end of the song. The video ain't bad either, such a fun way to say "na na na na"

'Dancing on my Own'~Robyn

I'm old enough, yes, to remember when Robyn first made it big in the U.S. I have to say I enjoy this revamped, slightly edgier version of Robyn. This song really gets it I think what many of us feel like when we see a crush/ex, whether its on the dance floor or just around, with another person. I also love how she makes it ambiguous, this person could be going home with a guy or a girl, and she could be singing about a girl or a guy. She released as her next single in the US, I wonder if the ambiguity ill prevent it from becoming a hit, I hope not.

'On Melancholy Hill'~Gorillaz

Words can't really explain how much I love this song. I've always been sort of on and off with the Gorillaz. Some of their stuff I really love, other stuff I tend to find to electronic for my taste. This song, however, is just, I don't know, right. That's a shit way of describing it, but, I don't know, its peaceful, yet still catchy, and hopeful. The video is really ace too!

'Little Lion Man'~Mumford Sons

This band was a new find for me last year. I heard of them on 'All Songs Considered', and simply fell in love with their style of Americana music (even though their a British band)

Now almost all of Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' could be included on this list, but I'm putting this one up here because, it was the first indication to me that Kanye wasn't gonna shut up, and wasn't going let the media backlash keep him down. Sure Kanye's self-absorbed and cocky, but, as this record demonstrates, at least he has the talent to back up.

'Bloodbuzz Ohio'~The National

The National is easily one of my favorite bands. It would've been pretty hard to top 'The Boxer' but 'High Violet' does this easily. This single from their latest record is definitely my favorite, and could certainly be my anthem as a former Buckeye myself.

'Rolling in the Deep'~Adele

I absolutely adore Adele's voice. Some people have to train and hone their talent to produce just the right quality to their voice (me being an example, which is one of the reasons I barely agree to do karaoke these days), and some just have it! Adele is just one of those singers. If she doesn't somehow screw up, I think she could be the heir apparent to Amy Winehouse, because her voice and the style of music reminds me of her.
