In which I have a stand off with a Hummer

Today I finally took that trip to Aspen. I've lived in Colorado for over 6 years and have yet to make it out to Aspen. I figured that a.) I was too a.) midwestern b.)middle class to enjoy it, which is still true, but I did enjoy it. According to my friend, its less pretentiously rich than Vail, so that was nice. The other objective was to take pictures of fall colors (color, as there are really only Aspen trees that are native to this state), and I certainly got some nice pictures.

I also had a standoff with a Hummer at 9000 ft, this was exciting. Independence is scary (its closed off during the winter months), and goes over the Continental Divide. I refused to drive most of it, because a.) I wasn't driving my car b.) driving steep inclines, with little barriers, narrow roads, and switchbacks, scare me worse than sticking some skis on and going down a mountain. However, I had to take over at one point when the altitude got to be too much. At certain points on this pass, the road is too narrow for 2 lanes, so you have to hope for a narrow pull off to let other cars pass by as they are going down. Well this chincadgo in a Hummer decided that well he had a Hummer and he was going to go up even though I was coming down in a Ford Explorer. I stopped and gestured to him, basically asking him what the fuck he was doing? He continued up, I honked and tried to drive slowly past him. It was not pleasant. I hate people who own Hummers.

Anyways, Aspen was beautiful. We decided not to take Independence Pass back, and take the interstate back, and stopped in Glenwood Springs, which like any Colorado town of note, has a delicious microbrewery, where I partook of 2 delicious beers and proceeded to tweet about them because I could. Now onto the pictures

and OMG apparently I missed this!!!
