Ah, classes and finals are done for the year! But now I've got some other things to worry about, non-school related, that will pretty much hit me like an anvil when I get back from Tokyo:
- SNAG Juried Student Exhibition: due Feb 6th, submitting a 2-piece project, but only 1 piece is done right now :/ 2nd one should go pretty fast, once I get access to the semi-studio that James is setting up (& I can sneak into his office to use the hydrolic press!). There's a second exhibition entry due the same day, but I'll probably submit some older pieces for that one.
- SNAG 2009 Conference Apprenticeship: due ASAP, as soon as they post the app online. If I don't get the apprenticeship, I pretty much can't afford to go to the conference.
- SNAG 2009 Conference Portfolio Review: also due ASAP whenever they post the app. Not quite as worried about this one, but since I'll be at the conference anyway, and the next one won't happen until after I graduate, AND it could be in LA or something else less convenient than Philly for me, it could prove very helpful.
- Centre County 2009 Summer Arts Fest: app due VERY early Feb, but not sure on exacts. Have to make prototypes of my production work, photograph it, and write an artist's statement. I'm going to try to write the statement before my trip, and order supplies so I'll be ready to work when I get back.
Oi! All of this is pretty much in anticipation for summer activities (SNAG Conference in Philly, right after finals in May, and Arts Fest in July). I should also have a summer workshop app on my list, but unfortunately, I just don't have a spare $1500 to spend on a week of classes. poo. Maybe next year.
Lastly, classes for Spring:
- Rennaisance Art History
- History of Asian Architecture
- Japanese 110 (which I hear is a doozy!)
- Beginning Sculpture (New Media 3D class wasn't offered, and Game Art requires that first :/ )
- Artist Book Making
