Day 416

Aug 06, 2014 21:23

I've been in a slump lately, tulpaforcing wise. Ever since I solidified the flat in my mind, I've been feeling less of a drive to go see it. It feels repetitive, like a chore now. I know that I haven't seen every detail in it, and I can always improve my skills… but it's just hard to make myself do it. It's irritating, because I had gotten into such a nice habit..

I'm trying to figure out what skill I should work on next, then, if my usual schedule is getting too boring. I figure I might as well try and visualize Sherlock and John's bodies now, cause I kept putting that off for some reason. I have lots of references, so I'll probably start visualizing them both moving and at rest, and I'll try and work on different views and postures, etc… I have been doing that a little bit with the flat- not looking at it from the same directions all the time. I might try and take on cat form again and explore that way to get up close with bits I wouldn't as a human.

I've been trying to work on communication. I played Harvest Moon and tried to explain it to Sherlock today. Sometimes he asks questions that make me think either I haven't been explaining properly or he's not paying attention/hearing- he could be deleting what I tell him, idk. Also played a word game with him and John that we haven't done in a while- first we just listed everything we could think of that began with 'b'- it was a bit hard at first, because I couldn't tell who was thinking what at times, and even when we agreed that it would only be nouns I kept hearing them use adjectives or verbs, but it went mostly okay. Then we moved on to going through the alphabet with the restrictions of no animals or food. They still broke the rules at times, but we got through okay. I love these sorts of games because I like hearing them say words that I wouldn't normally think of.

Another visualizing thing that I want to master is moving objects (and myself) and having the movement seem natural. I can't really walk in the wonderland and have things move smoothly, which is irritating. I've tried walking through hallways and climbing trees, but then it starts to feel rather… repetitive? Gif-y? Basically, it doesn't feel real. It feels like it's a repeated picture moving by that quickly goes out of my control, rather than me moving by something and having that same thing remain there. I guess I also need to increase my "RAM"? Being able to remember where things are and being able to make temporary changes to the wonderland would be nice. (Like, drawing a picture, leaving it, and then coming back to see it still there.)

We have improved communication/visualizing in the sense that I'm getting better at knowing how they're dressed, where they are and how they're positioned when we're talking. I don't see it with my eyes, and often it's not really detailed in my mind either, but I'll know if Sherlock's sitting cross-legged, for example, or if he laughed at something, or I can tell that his mouth is moving even if I can't hear the words. It's interesting and I hope it keeps developing.

Sherlock and John had another case recently- they explained it to me, but I think I messed up in understanding. I got the gist of it, but the actual details were a bit confusing. I don't know if this is my fault, or if the logics of their world aren't quite working properly. Sherlock updated his blog a few days ago- wouldn't tell me what he was writing, though. I might have heard Sherlock playing violin a few days ago. I was on tumblr, listening to fans play the wedding dance from The Sign of Three, and then I turned the music off but I still was sort of hearing something. I'm still not sure if it was just an electric appliance noise, but at the time it felt like I was hearing music. I couldn't tell if I was hearing it with my actual ears or if it was in my head. It was weird, but cool. I do so want to hear him play violin.

So yeah, things are going pretty well. We'll keep working.
