Otakon, pt 2 and Japanese
Okay, internet's being slow, so we'll try and be quick.
We're sad Otakon's over. It was a lot of fun. We got there later than planned today, because someone got lice and couldn't come and we had to get a different ride... but it worked out. We got there and still had most of the day. Didn't wear a shirt under my costume today- very grateful for that, since it was HOT. There were some pretty cool costumes- we'll probably post our favorites when the internet's better. We got a lot of hugs and pictures taken today- we saw a Jin! :D Loved them...
Lots of random stuff happening today. Lots of people going around yelling "I just lost the game!" or other, inappropriate things. :3 Some people were dancing to a techno song for ten minutes, and some people had gone and painted on the ceiling the word "awesome" and people were saying "Come and join the point!" We got whistled away after a minute, but it was still fun.
Getting stared at in public was a fun point of all three days (as was the randomness and people glomping us :P), and I was surprised at how much fun I had. I made friends with my cousin's friends, and hopefully I'll see them next year.
Now about Japanese- I downloaded a game yesterday- Slime Forest, and it's been AMAZING so far. It's an RPG game of sorts where you fight slimes to learn kanji. I'm learning them much faster than I did with the book- the only downside is it doesn't show me the words in Japanese- like, it'll show me the kanji and the translation, but not the Japanese word. Well, at least it's something. I'll work on teaching myself some more words, and I'll probably check my dictionary to make sure it's giving me right translations. Either way, it's still fun.
GOD this weekend was amazing. I love coming to my cousin's house. *Cannot* wait until next year. ^_^
