HELLO!!!! (^_^) GIF TUTORIAL!!!!!">
I've been meaning to make this for a whole, but I've always seemed to put it off (>_<).
Since this is my first tutorial please bear with me (^_^).
If there is any moment I did not adress clearly enough, then please do not hesitate to tell me (^_^)
Preperation: Things You Will Need
1) A video
Most of my videos are from youtube, and I use this handy little thing called a Jdownloader.
http://jdownloader.org/download/indexYou basically open the application, copy the link of the video and jdownloader will do the rest (^_^)
2) Quicktime Player
Or any other video player that lets you export certain scenes in 'Image Sequence' format
3) Photoshop CS(any)
I personally use CS4, but if you have CS3 it should work out in the same fashion. If you have neither then you can always try the
free trial download Step One:
Open the video in Quicktime, adjusting the video size that you feel most comfortable with.
STEP TWO:
Take the two markers and move them until the moment you want giffed is marked in grey (as indicated below in the bottom right corner)
STEP THREE:
Now got to EDIT --> TRIM SELECTION
STEP 4:
Play the newly cropped video to make sure it is th moment you want. If it is not then repeat the trim to selection or undo until it is (^_^).
If it is already fine then got to FILE--> EXPORT
STEP FIVE:
A new window should pop up.
If you are making multiple gifs from the same video, I recommend retitling SAVE AS into the alphabet, for better use (^_^).
Got to the pull down tab for EXPORT--> MOVIE TO IMAGE SEQUNCE
STEP SIX:
Now click on options.
A new window should pop up
Click FORMAT--> PNG
FRAMES PER SECOND--> 8
Now realize these are just to make sure that your gif is the smallest byte that you can have.
If you want your moment to be slower or faster than what is on the video, FRAMES PER SECOND-->best but know that this will make your gif a much LARGER byte
STEP SEVEN:
EXPORT it (^_^)
When it exports it will show up with the name you changed the gif too along with numbers (as show below under "bomsol 01.png" etc.)
STEP EIGHT:
You can now open PHOTOSHOP
When you open it, go to FILE--> OPEN
STEP NINE:
A New window will show up.'
On th ebottom left hadn corner select FORMAT-->PNG.
Click on IMAGE SEQUNCE which should be below the format bar
STEP TEN:
A small window will appear.
Click FRAME RATE--> CUSTOM
chose 8 fps
If you chose "BEST" while in export, usually anything below 25fps is slower than the video and anything higher is faster.
STEP ELEVEN:
Just follow what the picture shows.
This is so you can view what your gif will look like.
Let it load before it will show you how fast the gif will actually look (^_^)
STEP TWELVE:
If you are happy with it then you can save by going FILE--> SAVE FOR WEB AND DEVICES
STEP THIRTEEN:
A new window will appear.
STEP FOURTEEN:
Click on ORIGINAL.
In the bottom right hand corner you can change the size.
I prefer keeping the ratio locked and making the width 380.
STEP FIFTEEN:
Now click on LOOPING OPTIONS--> FOREVER
STEP SIXTEEN:
Do not change any of the options, just change the name of the gif to what you wish, save and BAM (^_^)
STEP SEVENTEEN:
Save to a picture uploader (Tinypic, imageshack, photobucket, etc.)
