Book to movie adaptations
If you could have the BBC adapt any historical novel/literary classic/whathaveyou into a novel, which one would it be and why? Who would you cast in it?
For myself, I would love to see an adaptation of any of Frances Burney's novels, but especially Evelina and Cecilia. Yes, Jane Austen was a wonderful writer, but there were other female novelists around the same period. Even a movie based on Frances Burney's life would be awesome as she knew so many people who were famous in her own time.
As for casting, James Purefoy would have to be in one of the films, preferably as Lord Orville. :)
