Prayer request...

I took my dog, Magic, to the vet today. It was an emergency visit although I made the appointment on Saturday but today was the soonest they could see her. She has a really bad hot spot which I had been treating with benadryl to stop some of the itch until they could give her something stronger. The original spot had started to heal and go away but this morning I noticed that she was out of sorts again. I gave her a dose of benadryl and got Bennett ready to go to breakfast and then the vet.

~ A quick side note...Bennett, Lexie, Magic and I went to Eileen's at the Chimneys for breakfast. They have THE BEST CHAI in Fredericksburg and some really good pastries and breakfast treats. I highly recommend them if you are in the area.~

After breakfast Magic, Bennett and I went to the vet. In the 20 minutes it took to get to the vets office she had started a whole new spot that she pulled the hair out of. Plus when I got her out of the car I noticed that she had eaten away at her tail and the new spot and it was all bloody. For once I would like to take my dog to the vet and not have anything wrong with her. They probably think I don't take care of her at all. But then again if I didn't I would not spend the insane amount of money that I will be spending this afternoon when I pick her up. Yes that's right. I had to leave her there because they have to shave her back half, disinfect, give antibiotics and a c-collar. What's a c-collar? It's the cone. So I walked in with a somewhat bloodied dog this morning and I will leave with a half shaved, cone wearing dog. At least she will feel better. I just hope it never comes back. She gets them randomly but it usually only happens once a year. This is the second time this year. And it is far worse this time.

Bennett and I cleaned off the door of the car when we got home because I knew if I waited till this evening to clean the whole car that I would definitely get pulled over by a police officer who would see the blood on the side of the car door and ask me what has happened and then I would end up spending the day at the police station until they found out that my story was actually true. Luckily I did not get pulled over because my car is a mess anyways and smells a little funny.

Before I left to go to work my mom told me that my method of parenting my not be working. When I asked what she sees wrong with avoiding any touchy subject matter that a small three year old child might have she told me that Bennett told her yesterday that her dead dogs where not there because Magic ate them. Oops. I guess I should have explained that better. I really did not want to have to explain death to a three year old because I knew that he really would not understand anyway. But I guess that will be another fun talk.

Oh, Good Luck Bekah on your job interview. Although I understand that it is not a job interview, you are simply going to talk about a job.

bennett, magic
