So, yesterday Mr. B got to spend a few hours with his father. J dropped him off at 9pm. While he was there he brought up the issue that he does not have a lot of money which is only convincing me more and more that he just does not want me to ask him for money. That way I will not ask him for his half of things. But then I still have to pay everything?? Anyway, on to other things. For the last couple of years J has had a heat rash that comes and go's on his chest. The doctors always told him that it is because of wearing a bullet proof vest and sweating. Recently J went to a different doctor about a cold that would not go away. While he was there he tells them that the heat rash was back and was just getting worse. The doctors decide to take some blood and run some tests.
The heat rash apparently is not a heat rash. It turns out that J is allergic to bedbugs. I am not kidding. You know, those microscopic bugs that live in your mattress? The ones that don't really do anything to you, you just have to live with them and try to forget that you are sleeping on a bed full of little microscopic bugs that are probably doing the chicken dance on your stomach when you are asleep. Well, he is allergic to them. So they told him that he needed to bomb the apartment that he lives in and then replace all his bedding and pillows. Plus he has to keep everything sterile. He has to take a medication for the allergy and is hoping that they will be able to find some sort of shot instead of the pills.
I do feel bad for him because I would never want an allergy to anything. Especially one that required you live in a sterile environment. The only thing I could think was (and I know this is mean but...) that I am so glad he is not living with me now. He would drive me crazy with trying to sterilize everything!
**I would also like to point out that the condition worsened after he moved out of the house so my house must have fewer bedbugs than his apartment. And that makes me feel good.
bedbugs,
