That same day, they visited the famous museum in Kyoto. Where legends, myth and history were hold one thing that never left out kimonos were all in a special glass showcase. Even the old kings and queens kimonos which they were under the royalty sections even the new generations were up too. The museum look so old but some parts can look so new. Probably, showcase glass.
Both agree to separate; it will be easier to collect some information. While Kazuya reading through the history of the oldest kimono hanging in the showcase, he felt something that chilling through his spine passing by him.
“BOO!” said in a small voice. Kazuya startled as he leaned back to the wall.
“AKANISHI!” Kazuya exclaimed. Jin laughed after witness the younger man’s shocking face and right it’s pale like snow. It was hilarious.
“You should have seen your face!” Jin holds onto his stomach to control his laughter.
“That’s not funny!” Kazuya hit the man with a book as he shove a death glare.
“You’re just easily got scared huh?” Jin grinned.
“Why are you in there? You aren’t supposed too!” Kazuya exclaimed.
“I’m bored! Can we do something else than seeing old clothes and old painted pictures?” Jin whined. Kazuya was struck by the older man’s whine. How can he be so childishly cute yet he is one full grown man? Kazuya thought.
“No.” Kazuya said a small voice.
“Please!” Jin pleaded.
“No!”
“Fine! What do you want me to do now?”
“Why don’t you read this book?” Kazuya shoved the book to Jin chest.
“You want me to read this boring book!” Jin protest flipping the pages. One thing he want is to go back and enjoy this research trip to a vacation trip. “Why don’t you read it!” Jin shoved back the book to the younger man but Kazuya push the book back to him.
“No, Akanishi? You have to read it! I need to tour around and find some information. Or do you want to change place with me?”
“I stick with the book!” Jin gave a smile and nodded.
“Please don’t fall asleep!”
“Right! I won’t!” Jin nodded.
“Good!”
------
Sitting on the wooden block Jin starting to read the book as instructed. Each page contains different kind story. From the kings and queens, to the famous samurais and lastly the mystery story about the Japan’s own Romeo and Juliet. Jin thought history was bored and all sorts of thing. He maybe not in a historian major but this book that he was reading fascinates him. Skipping some of the pages Jin starts to read a tragic death story because of love. He began reading out loud where a certain paragraph starting to get him curious.
“For centuries we historians have been digging up this story but both of the passing families refuse to acknowledge about their passing children. But we do heard rumours and stories among the local folks. Thanks to them we got a story to written.”
“Two different families with their own different skills work together as one. Sewing and designing the most beautiful kimonos throughout the country. They were more than friends, they were brothers they could trusted in the job. Tragic happens when one of them accuse the other for stealing the royal draft that were in a golden box which gone missing.”
“From friends to brothers, but turned out to rival and enemy. The mystery is still unsolved for the missing designs. But the tragic deaths of their children death were a case they hardly could understand. Firstly, why are they were at the front door? That is a mystery to us too!”
“Takeshi, young and handsome looking man, his intelligent skills of fight were a high rank solider. But he ended his life at 19, by punching through his own dagger to his abdomen. His only love was Miyoko the daughter of a fellow tailor who worked together with his father, his beloved fiancé. The engagement was broken after the accusations of the missing design. The couple mourn over their broken engagement. And they have planned to run away from the town to get married. But it was too late.”
“Miyoko, a young and the most beautiful lady throughout the town, others were jealous of her beauty. Mans were crazy to grab her attention. But she had laid her eyes to the man she had fallen in love recently, that is Takeshi, soon to be husband. Her dream wedding was gone when she ended her life at the age of 17, by pulling out the dagger from Takeshi’s abdomen as she stabbed to her own, dying together with her love side by side.”
“I believe someone lured Miyoko to the front porch and force her to drink some liquid substance that makes her fall asleep, thinking she was dead by Takeshi. And this tragic event wouldn’t be happen. If Miyoko hasn’t drank that liquid substance. They would be happily married somewhere out of town.”
“But what I found out that rumours said again, Takeshi and Miyoko will go through the cycle of reincarnation, in a coming century. Whether the rumour is true or just a myth one thing that stated if it is true, there’ll be a meteor shower during a full moon. It only happens in a next two/three hundred years.”
“But still, this case is still unsolved and we have lost the connections with both families. Researching the case of Takeshi and Miyoko was the toughest thing we historian had ever done. But we are happy with the story we have given.”
“Before we end here, there’s a poem that the family kept for generations. Brown but antique, old yet useful. Diamonds and jewellery are safe and sound. Secrets that hidden somewhere underneath its bottom.”
“Quotes: Families that torn apart with children died for love.”
Jin closes the book as he collects all the information he got in the book. Somehow or somewhere he heard of the poem before. But the poem sounded like a clue. Brown but antique, old yet useful, diamonds and jewellery are safe and sound. Secrets that hidden somewhere underneath its bottom… doesn’t mum said that to me when I’m stress? Jin thought. Jin tried to throw the thoughts away from the book. But the quote seem can’t get off from his mind. Families that torn apart with children died for love. That was bugging him.
Jin yawned widely putting the book aside and letting himself closing his eyes to take a short nap before he get nags from Kazuya.
“Takeshi!!!!” the man turn around after hearing a sweet voice calling his name. He smiled seeing his love wearing her black kimono with Sakura petals as the embroidery. Her hair was down as she placed a white rose tucking on her ear. Yet, to her young age she looks on her 20s no doubt she’s a beautiful women he had ever met who soon to be his wife. And he was happy that it’s going to happen soon.
“What is it, Miyoko?” he asked in a calm voice. Body stood straight and muscular, carrying a katana on his left hand.
“Here! I made you a bento! I thought you would be hungry during your journey and training!” the lady shyly gave the bento box to the man she fall in love.
“Did you make it yourself?”
“Yes!” Miyoko nodded shyly looking down as she could feel her face turn hot. Takeshi took the bento box from her as he lifted her chin with his other hand leaning closer so he could press his lips in a sweet kiss until they run out of breath.
“I’ll be back tonight! Don’t wait up for me. I can’t promise if I’ll be back tonight maybe tomorrow morning? I need to go. Take care, ne~” Takeshi planted a kiss on her face as he caress her cheeks lovingly while staring at those beautiful eyes before he of to his training.
“Be careful.” said the lady in a worried tone.
“Don’t worry, love. I will.” With one last goodbye kiss Takeshi off to his training.
During his training, he always the teacher’s pet. Takeshi was smart, intelligent, popular and one of the best student in the training school. The teacher was calling the attendance each student stood up saying they were present.
“…Takeshi…” said the teacher. But there isn’t a reply he try again. “Akanishi Takeshi!”
“HERE!”
“Akanishi! Akanishi! WAKE UP!”
-------
“Akanishi! Akanishi! JIN WAKE UP!” Kazuya shook the man hard but no avail. Once he saw the book he ask for the man to read was beside him. He took the book and smacked it on his head. “AKANISHI!”
“What? What?”
“Why are you sleeping? Aren’t you supposed to read the book I gave you?”
“Can you stop yelling at me? And why do you have to do that for?” Jin complained as he rubbed his wounded head.
“I tried to wake you up but you didn’t and I have no choice but to hi you with the book!”
“Are we fated to be by always meet that have something to do with a book?” Jin asked but he just received a death glare from the young boy.
“Not funny!”
“Relax! I’m just stating some facts?”
“Have you read the book?”
“Yes! I have! I thought after finish reading it I could take a nap for a while as I can predict that you will nag at me.”
“Sorry. If I hit you with the book… again…” Kazuya gave the book to him trying to hide how sorry his was hitting the man with the book.
“It’s okay! Now what do you want me to do?”
“Ermmm… I have collect some history about kimonos. So, kimono is done in our list. Just….”
“The mystery case of Takeshi and Miyoko?” Jin added.
“Yes!!! It’s late. Why don’t we continue tomorrow?”
“Okay! Can you give me a couple of minutes before we leave? I want to tour around on the royalty section?”
“Sure! I’ll wait for you at the information counter.”
------
While touring around he remember when I took his short nap he dreamt of himself but one thing for sure it was not him at all. A different name but who have the same face like him.
Did I dream of that Takeshi guy? And Miyoko? God! Why that Takeshi guy look a lot like me!! And Miyoko look a lot like Kazuya. Yet, she’s so beautiful like a goddess. Like Kazuya… Jin wondered. But why did I dream of them?
Jin look around the area again as he came across the certain kimono that was hanged in the showcase. He’s eyes widen when he found the exact same kimono he saw in his dream. Black as the base as the Sakura petals withered throughout the black material that was embroidered. NO WAY! Jin gasped covering his mouth. For sure his eyes were deceiving him, but when he saw the name who wore the kimono were stated on the description. And even there were her picture next to it. The portrait was black and white nearly faded. But it really shows how beautiful she was. No doubt he has the same face as Kazuya.
First he thought a dream was just a dream but it really made him more curious. Second was the exact same black kimono Miyoko was wearing in his dream were hanging on the showcase, and that was bizarre. Thirdly, her face was almost like Kazuya like Siamese twins. What was that actually? Jin asked himself. He continue touring around the area as he felt a shadow walking pass him. He stop as he look at the tailor and the tender’s family photo who designed for the royalty. Below the family portrait stated their family names and the family members. Strangely, both family name was the one making him surprised. Year 1786. Akanishi family, Akanishi Tokai, Akanishi Nao and Akanishi Takeshi. Year 1786, Kamenashi family, Kamenashi Subuto, Kamenashi Miine and Kamenashi Miyoko.
“NO WAY!” shouted Jin. Takeshi… Takeshi…Jin turn around after he heard faint voice down the aisle. Takeshi… Takeshi… said the faint voice again. Jin followed the faint voice went. There, he saw a lady walking towards the aisle, singing so sweetly as she was wearing an traditional kimono. Jin ceased his forehead as he continue following the lady.
The singing began to stop so as she stopped her tracks. Jin stop too, didn’t know if he should help the lady.
“Ano… Are you lost?”
“Do you still love me, my love?” said the lady. Jin was taken aback from the lady sudden outburst.
“Ano… Are you lost? I could help you show the reception counter?” Jin asked again.
“Do you still love me, my love?” said the lady again. Jin starting to get annoyed by the lady’s outburst.
“Why don’t you come with me? I’ll show you to the reception area? Maybe you could find your lover there?” The lady turn around slowly showing her face. Jin gasp at the resemblance of Kazuya. Could it be….
“Do you still love me, my love?” her face was totally calm and Jin starting to think it was Kazuya playing trick with him.
“Kamenashi!! Why are you in a girl clothes! Stop playing tricks!” Jin retorted.
“Do you still love me, my dear Takeshi?” said the lady again.
“What…” he frowned as the lady turn back as she continue walking and vanished into thin air. Jin blinked couples of time as he tried to absorb what he had just saw. He rub his eyes again, she wasn’t there.
Jin felt someone was tapping his shoulder and he spun around to find the younger one in his normal clothes. Jin eyes widen as he face the window and back to him.
“Are you ok? You seem that you saw a ghost.”
“Ne, were you in a kimono just now?”
“HUH? I wasn’t!”
“But I saw you walking there and you were wearing a kimono!”
“Are you out of your mind? I was waiting for you at the reception the whole time!”
Jin was struck, by the younger man’s retorts. One thing he know that he was hallucinate about the book and one thing was weird that he saw how beautiful Miyoko was. Even he sees that to Kazuya. The resemblance were so similar like Miyoko's.
