Those of you who are submitting stories to
the Hot For Teacher issue, be advised: the due date is exactly one month away! Thus, this is the beta signup post! If you would like to beta-read for the upcoming issue, comment here with the number of stories you're willing to handle, any other notes on your betaing style (e.g., if you're willing to help with issues other than spelling/grammar, such as plot, characterization, prose flow), and the best way to get in touch with you.
You may comment here also if you need a beta reader for your submission, particularly if you have specific issues with your story that you think might benefit from a new set of eyes. Please indicate clearly whether you're seeking a beta or volunteering as one!
To avoid blind-leading-the-blind situations, please volunteer as a beta reader only if you yourself are confident of your spelling, grammar and syntax, and that words mean what you think they mean when you use them in sentences. As a minimum, you must be able to fix the majority of the problems listed in the resources linked from the
Writing Aids and Standards post.
As with illustrators, please contact beta readers by responding directly to the comments.

The
beta signup round one for the
Artist Special #1 is still open, though there will also be a second opportunity closer to the deadline for those who (like me) are a bit more procrastinatory.
A reminder to anyone who's on tumblr:
our tumblr is the best! Well, maybe not the best, but it's certainly an excellent place. Currently it's set up so that every day, we post a link to and excerpt from one of the (randomly selected) stories from our archive -- and at over 600 stories, well, we can keep this up for a while. Those of you who are newer to this project may not know what gems we have lurking in the archives, and even those who've been around a while may have forgotten some of the blasts from the past, so this is a great way to get (re-)acquainted! One story a day: read, comment, like, and reblog! Spread a little gay goodness and delight into the universe!
And speaking of the archives,
relvetica has done an amazing job putting together both
a big issue index (with links to indvidual issue pages) and
a master story index (for all those times you can remember that special story's name but just can't remember where you left it). Enjoy!
