guidelines for art submissions

When SSBB started allowing standalone art back in April, one of the ideas behind the change was to give artists who supported the project a chance to to contribute without having to be tapped by a writer. Through the years, there have been many wonderful -- both in skill and in personality -- artists who have wanted to be a part of issues but haven ( Read more... )

These rules all sound perfectly reasonable to me~ Perhaps this time I'll actually manage to get something done in time XD Either way, thanks for the clarification~

Is there a limit to how many pages there can be for the art issue? I'm already scripting something... XDXDXD -excitement-

That's a good question, and here's what I'm thinking: since there's no standard page size/shape, it doesn't make sense to do a specific page limit. However, the 800 pixel width stands, and the 8M total size limit stands, so I'm inclined to say that the number of pages doesn't matter so long as the finished product fits in those bounds.

Overall, I would say, think shorter rather than longer. But since this isn't about printing or creating multiple HTML pages -- all the images will just be put sequentially in an lj entry -- the number of individual images isn't as important as the amount of data transfered when a person loads the page.

Question: does the six-image limit count for illustrations in stories? Which would be a little outrageous, I guess. I'm just wondering what the limit is on illustrations for a story.

As someone who personally once did a story with twenty-five images, I can say, no, that's not the upper bound for illustrations. But the 2M-per-page limit on size would probably apply there, so ... limit that as you will?

To my knowledge, though, there are very few stories that have been submitted with more than three or four accompanying illustrations; most have only one. I guess I'd say, if you're concerned that a story may have too many illustrations, you're welcome to double-check with us, and we'll take things on a case-by-case basis? Otherwise, it hasn't become an issue, and until it does, I don't particularly want to put a roof on it.

(...) comics are held to the same content rules as text submissions in regular issues -- in other words, they should have pages that would be considered Not Safe For Work.

Wait, how did I miss this the first time I read this entry?

Eromanga issue??

Yeeeessssssssssssssssss
