Finally...

I know that it has been quite a while since I last updated my lj. Angela and I have been having such an awesome time together that I just haven't bothered. But...I had still been meaning to update and I actually intended to do so last Friday after work because Angela was going out for dinner with a friend and I would have had the apartment to myself. And so Murphy's Law comes into effect and our internet was down. So I decided to watch some tv. The digital cable was down. So I decided to check the phone (we have that with Rogers as well) and that was also down. All our Rogers services down at the same time. I thought it might have been something rather mundane due to the high winds and such. I never thought too much of it at the time. We got up Saturday and Angela pointed out the co-ax cable hanging across our balcony. I called Rogers on Monday and set up a service call for Wednesday. I got a call Wednesday evening from Rogers saying that the management office closed at 4:30 pm and the technician couldn't get the key to the roof to fix the cable (apparently the connection had actually broken so a new cable had to be installed) so I had to make arrangements for the following day and to give permission for the office to let Rogers into my apartment. So I called the office this morning at 8:30 am and left a message. I hadn't heard anything back by 10:30 so I called them again. They told me it was no problem for Rogers to get the roof key but it was my own responsibility to let them into the apartment and they refused to do it. So I called Rogers to explain the situation and the service rep was extremely helpful. He told me he would get the tech to the building before 4:30 to get to the roof and if necessary, would be at the apartment after 5 if he needed access (which from his service notes appeared that he might not need to). So I got home today and checked the phone. Dial tone present. Checked the tv. Cable service on. Reset the modem and I'm back online.

So I just thought I'd post about what's been happening so people wouldn't think I'm completely ignoring everybody and I still intend to post what's been going on with Angela and I lately.
