Uugghh! Don't you hate it when you get absolutely shitty service anywhere? Particularly restaurants/pubs/etc.?
So yesterday afternoon, a bunch of my classmates and I went to the campus bar to celebrate reading week, and as usual, it was too crowded with not enough tables or chairs. So when 2 drunk guys offered us the empty tables next to them, half of us sat there and the other half sat at another table (which was close to the smoking patio doors and it was -20C out so it was not ideal!) Anyways, when the guys went out for a smoke, we all decided to move over there so we could talk and hang out as a big group. Anyways, when they came back, they started complaining at us that we were taking up too much room, and that we had taken over the seats they had "saved" for their "friends". They had been sitting there drinking long before any of us got there and their friends were quite obviously MIA, and they had clearly had more than enough to drink. When they started cursing at us and making threatening physical gestures, we called over a bouncer and a waitress tagged along.
This stupid skank probably thought she could get a better tip by sweet-talking them, so she began talking to them in what one could only assume was supposed to be a calming fashion. Yet, when the 2 men started complaining about their friends' seats being stolen and began cursing at us again, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER AND THE BOUNCER, I retorted with the simple question of "Well then where are your friends?" And the waitress simply gave ME a dirty sneer and asked why I was being so rude.
Um...excuse me?
#1: You really should be posing that question to the 2 lovely, fine-mannered gentlemen you're trying to sweet-talk, as their behavior, language, and attitude were much more socially unacceptable than I was being.
#2: That question is rich, coming from you, as you have just demonstrated how rude and abysmally incompetent you are in customer service.
I just found it absolutely unacceptable that she would take such a tone of attitude with me, when clearly, the 2 men were being much more offensive, not only towards myself, but towards my group of classmates as well. I was genuinely insulted by her attitude, and I'm also appalled that part my student fees that I pay every semester go towards paying the wages of such poor employees. Even though it is a student-association run campus bar, I still expect proper customer service from any employee that is being paid for by my student fees.
Well I guess this is the reason why she's still only just a waitress at the campus bar. Good luck getting any further in life than that.
And the 2 douche bags were in their late 20s/early 30s ... and they were putting up such a big fight about "stolen seats"??? Like, OMG grow up and grow a pair!
