I didn't go to Atlanta Pride this year (the big annual gay pride event) due to a variety of reasons. But I did hear back from some of my friends who did go.
My church operates a prophecy booth there where they'll prophecy over people and pray for healing and stuff. A lot of folks, also, just walk around the park and pray, too. Some of the reports I've been hearing are crazy cool. Two deaf people had their hearing restored, there were many, many healings, and a number of homosexuals were saved and/or rededicated their lives to Christ. The IHOPers said that this was the most fruitful year they've ever had at the pride event. I'll add more specific accounts as I hear them.
I went last year during my internship and it was so neat. Me and my pal saw a couple folks healed -- a lady had hurt her knee and we prayed for that. Little but important things. Attendance has been down a lot for a couple years. There used to be a 25,000 people attending the event a couple years ago, but last year on Saturday, we saw maybe 2,000.
God's doing some crazy stuff.
Last night, the renewal services at IHOP ended. They'd been going on for eight months every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. God was really blowing stuff up and there were miraculous healings, not just physical, but a lot of emotional and spiritual hurt was dealt with and it was all so beautiful. Last night, they had a bunch of people give a quick testimony of what God's done during the renewal services and I wrote down the nameable things. There was everything from depression lifting, shame from sexual abuse, fear, and anger lifting, to paralysis that had been healed, eyesight restored, diabetes, arthritis, and bones being healed. There was a lady who had cancer and God totally healed that.
A couple weeks ago, the leaders felt that it was time to end the meetings, which never happens with revival stuff. They always peter out, but the staff felt that God wanted us to stop and go into a season of prayer. I'm so excited.
