The PC is back from its brief sejour at PC World where, as expected, it passed the health check with a clean bill of health. Yes, the old girl doesn't have a current anti-virus/firewall subscription but then she doesn't have internet access at the moment so it isn't really a problem. And even when she does need internet protection again, there's no way in hell I'm bogging her down with Norton 360 when I'm never going to use any of the features that aren't also in their internet security package for less than half the price.
Swimming has taken on a new level of enjoyment this week as the pool is running lifeguard training all week. Unsurprisingly none of the trainees would ever make it past the casting crew for Baywatch, but it's still quite interesting to watch when you're clinging to the side, dying, between lengths. Sadly work today prevented me making it three for three, but I might try and fit a session in tomorrow before heading up north.
Also on the health front, I had my first fun filled trip to the hospital yesterday to start the course of injections to get myself vaccinated against Hep B. It's only been 8 months since I got wronged by the nurse for not having had it already so that's pretty good going by my standards. Course it'll be nearly another 8 months 'til I'm all finished with the injections, which could prove interesting if I'm off travelling by then. It's bad enough commuting back down from Newcastle for dentist appointments and the likes, let alone trying to synchronise vaccinations with not being half way around the world.
That's about the whole of things at the moment. Tomorrow kicks off the big bank holiday weekender. Yay! The tag team of no internets and shitty TV signal is gonna drive me mad, but I'll bring the iPod and plenty of books to entertain me.
