Hello from 24Call!
So I'm on again tonight. Today was a pretty crazy day, clinic went late and we had a lot of running around and paperwork to do. My colleagues were exhausted and drooping by 8pm, when they finally got to leave after their 14 hour day. I waved goodbye from the clinic doorway.
So far tonight we've had a couple of consults in the ER, we rounded on the patients in Maternity and we've had a couple of admissions to Labor and Delivery. All pretty standard and I'm starting to think maybe tonight we could get 3 or 4 hours of sleep - definitely a good night. (crossing fingers)
I have a presentation Friday on postpartum depression that I haven't even started yet. I'm hoping I can magically find something on the Internet and just misappropriate/mangle it to suit my needs because I don't have the time or energy to construct something entirely from scratch. Maybe I'll just smile a lot and talk really slowly and nobody will notice that I only have 5 slides.
This is my last call on OB/GYN.
