Ugh, my right eye is dripping, yes, dripping. I am out of my mind right now. I just took my second dose of Tylenol Sinus--here's hoping. I woke up last night at 3:30 with a headache and the idea that I should start the coffee and get in some reading before Devlin wakes up, but it was 3:30. I made the mistake of trimming back the damn wisteria that decided to send off shoots to the back of my house. God forbid the damn thing flowered. It's a disaster. Needless to say, I started a war on my immune system. Sunshine hurts. My nose pops. I am so ticked off. Anyway, I got a phone call this morning from my new rheumatologist (like her a lot, though she loves ordering tests and seems a bit panicky) regarding the MRI she ordered on my back since I have super-duper hyper reflexes in my lower extremities, which I contend I have always had. If you tap my knee with a hammer, I can knock a pair clear into the next room. It's really a thing of beauty. Apparently, this is not such a good thing unless all your reflexes are that hyped. Well, she called to say I had "an extradural mass," which made me think tumor, but it isn't. It's just an osteophyte, which is not a big deal according to Larry. The only problem with the growth is that it is hitting my spinal cord a bit. I have to see a neurosurgeon now. I will not have surgery. I feel fine. I only went to this rheumatologist because I changed medical insurance and want to begin getting my stable of doctors together. The whole thing is annoying. I want to go birding, not see doctors. I hate doctors. Anyway. . .
The Rats book was amazing. I loved it. If I wasn't so completely disgusted by rats, I would like to go ratting. Fascinating creatures, really. I'm midway through Light Years, and I am really liking it. I love Salter. He really can break your heart in a sentence.
In Devlin news, he is really, really cute. The kid kills me. He growls and howls and smiles all the time and is learning to give hugs and kisses (his kisses are becoming less bitey and more kissey). He also loves to touch your face and coo at you, but mostly he likes to make all kinds of wacky noises. He's busting out of everything he owns like a cuckoo. Man, I love that little guy.
