Ahhhh. It's very soothing to read such good characterizations. This was a marvelous look at how great they are together, and how they sabotage themselves to a ridiculous degree. Silly humans! Neither can let go of the past, and really, they probably shouldn't, even if it makes things run rougher. It's a conundrum.

I feel like you've nodded at some of the notable post-S8 fics out there and made your own, beautifully complete, universe in this fic. (Also, great job with the local details! SF! ♥!)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you liked this! And, oh man, it's really great to hear that the SF details worked -- I've never been there and relied VERY heavily on google maps (so I was just as worried about that as I was about characterization, haha).

Neither can let go of the past, and really, they probably shouldn't, even if it makes things run rougher.

And this is what I love SO MUCH about Buffy/Spike! That messiness and the trauma (and beauty) of the things in their past is pretty much my favorite thing about their relationship.
