Hey, guess what I want to talk about?

So. How about those V spoilers for the next episode?

I am obvs super-excited for incredibly shallow reasons, but I also really like the direction this seems to be taking Erica's character. From some of the comments I've read in various places, this...is not a popular opinion. But I adore it and here's why: ( spoilers for the next episode only; warning, may be slightly tl;dr )

v, i watch too much tv

I seriously don't get the logic that Hobbes killed Joe. Because he didn't. Yeah, what he did was terrible and played a part in Joe's death, but so did Erica pretending to be a hostage (and so did Joe's weird need to keep standing upright during the shoot-out. WTF was that? I almost felt like someone that dumb deserved to get shot).

I guess I just don't see how Erica can agree with Jack's methods and still win/lead the 5th column. Jack could change, but I don't see that happening either. At this point, unless the show's moving towards Erica giving up her position as leader of the resistance, I can more likely see a Hobbes redemption than Erica's values aligning with Jack's.

I mean, it's HOT. And it's not illogical. Both Erica and Hobbes are broken right now, so seeking comfort with a very hot and very willing other person makes perfect sense to me.
I really like the way the scene is played, the hesitation, her slamming him into a wall, that thing LizMitch seems to do with her hands on a dude's face when things get heated.I AGREE ( ... )

jumping into the wagon to say that I love you both and your way of expressing your thoughts... I just go no but he's not guilty, yeah but no, but, ugh and go sit in a corner mad for not being able to express myself.

don't mind me keep talking.

Please, jump in, jump in! There's way too much Hobbes-blaming going on in some corners of the internet, which is the WORST

Plus, even if there's difficulties expressing thoughts, there can always be incoherent hotness flailing ;)

hahaha :)

you all pretty much cover all the basics, therefore ITA 100% with what you guys have been writing...

I just don't get plp telling Erica is OC Hobbes is a douche, they're complex characters, there aren't flat you have to analyze every side of the story and they're hot together. This isn't something out of the blue, yes the pace of the show has gotten a lot faster, and tbh I didn't really believe they writers would go where they're going. But I see where all this is coming from. (as everybody that's here) so plp just saying this is out of the blue ... *shakes head*

the "and they're hot together" is they have chemistry hahahah

Imo, Joe is very much responsible for Joe's murder
a) he's a civi, what was he aiming to accomplish by sneaking into a hostage situation. He was looking for trouble.
b) I am still not over him standing up during the shoot out. WHAT. A. MORON.

Hobbes was just trying to save someone he knows and cares for life. If anything is makes him even more human and much less the monster some people are portraying him as.

I think Erica has reached a point of no return. She knows that she's not going to win this war by making sure nobody dies on her end. Sacrifices are going to be necessary for the greater good.

I think Erica has reached a point of no return.

Me too, which is exactly what I've been waiting for. She needed to get to that point in order for anything to happen.

And I agree 100% about Joe being responsible for his own murder. Ugh, I hated him sneaking in there to "save" Erica or whatever. ERICA DOESN'T NEED TO BE SAVED. I mean, I get that it's sweet and he cares about her, but it was, like you said, totally stupid and him just looking for trouble. Hobbes shouldn't get all the blame for that whole mess; some blame, for sure, but definitely not all of it.

When he sneaked into that building, all I could think was, "Dude, she's a highly skilled FBI field agent. You repair motorbikes. Who is going to end up saving who?"
UGHHH.

My OTHER favourite part - don't mind me butting in Lacy and continuing on a conversation started on Paul's journal :p - is the a) it's so out of character for Erica and b) this is the Skate cage sex, without the cages ( ... )

:D Hello again!

For real, Skate cage sex minus the cages?
I really don't get the Lost/V comparisons, V is its own show, what's the point in comparing?
[I DON'T WANT A SHIPPER WAR IN THIS FANDOM. THERE IS NO LOVE TRIANGLE IN V, JUST A LOT OF WISHFUL THINKING OF SOME PEOPLE. THERE ARE NO COUPLES ON V (except Tyler/Lisa), SO THERE IS NO NEED FOR A SHIPPER WAR.]

a) EXACTLY. Thank goodness Erica is not the same woman she was in the pilot. If she still was all of Anna's soldier eggs would have hatched, and humanity would have be disseminated by now.

Ugh, that cage sex comparison is WEAK and not relevant at all, because like you said, it's A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHOW.

You're so spot-on with the comfort thing. It seems like some of the people who consider the Erica/Hobbes thing out of character seem to think that them making out (or having sex) is the same as them being in love. And it isn't. It's not some kind of character assassination to have Erica seek comfort with someone, especially when she seems to have two choices, one of whom is supporting her decisions and the other of whom is basically telling her she's a terrible person. I guess, in the end, I just want Erica to be happy and not feel alone/isolated for having to make difficult decisions.

ANYWAY. This is all to say that I totally agree with both your points.

there's a comment comparing the Erica/hobbes scene to the Sawyer/kate cage scene, meaning that erica would be kate and the end game would be erica/jack :S

V/LOST parallels LOL
