...and I feel like shit. It started as just a tickle in my throat on Friday, by Monday my rib cage was so sore from coughing, by Tuesday the stuffy nose and phlegm dropped by, by Wednesday I was sweating, gagging and all around dying. Today, I am starting to get a little better but not much. I have consumed so much Nyquil and Sudafed that I think my body is immune to it, because it doesn’t seem to be helping anymore. Ugh.
Tuesday was Alanis/BNL, I was in no shape to go, but since the tickets I bought months ago were nearly $60 and I have never missed an Alanis show in C-Town I went. It was awesome. Alanis was first. I was concerned that she might not rock out as well with her short hair, but she did just fine. I wasn’t thrilled with her choices of songs.
Jagged Little Pill
You Oughta Know (GREAT LIVE)
Hand in my Pocket (I never was completely in love with this song, but it is 100 times better live than recorded)
All I Really Want (First song, first album, excellent)
Perfect (I don’t think she has sung this live since her first concert. I love this song and it is really good live. Brought back memories of how I quoted this song in a college term paper on child stars)
Head Over Heels (Good, but not great)
Notably missing: Ironic
Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie
Front Row (not my favorite, nothing too special live except for the people in the front row)
Baba (Blah)
Thank You (continues to grow on me)
The Couch (Semi-blah)
Are You Still Mad (I love Alanis, I hate this song)
What she should have sung: Sympathetic Character, That I Would Be Good, UR, Joining You, So Pure
Under Rug Swept
21 Things I Want in a Lover (Eh)
Hands Clean (Good song regardless)
Notably missing: Precious Illusions
So Called Chaos
8 Easy Steps (Show Opener…not my first choice)
Everything (Lovely song)
Notably missing: Who cares, this cd kinda sucks
Other
Uninvited (Chilling song to begin with, perhaps the best song ever sung live)
Overall she was good, I couldn’t help but think 8 years ago around the same time I at my first Alanis concert with Byl. I have never been to an Alanis concert without him. Sigh.
BNL was awesome per usual. They have to be the best concert band of our time. Even if you don’t like their music, you are guaranteed to have a great time at their concerts.
Now I must go pass out.
