So, since I can't find a new full-time job to replace the one that I currently loathe, I went and got a part-time one that I will (hopefully) really like. I start like, tomorrow. There's a LUSH shop opening in NorthPark Mall, and since I've subsidized their mail-order operations for nearly ten years, I figure I should make back some of the dough I've put in. It's only for Saturdays and maybe one or two nights a week, I get a 50% discount (meaning I should just about break even) and we get to bring our CDs and IPods to listen to in the store. The interview was nerve-wracking because the manager interviewed a group of four of us at once, and the other three were these real perky 20-year-old Highland Park gals. I'm sorta perky, but I'm not 20 and definitely not a Parkie. I guess it went well because the manager called me less than an hour later and offered me a job. She also said that she felt weird paying me their starting wage given my credentials (none of which have anything to do with selling soap), and gave me a dollar more per hour. Also, if the store makes their sales goals, we get an extra dollar for every hour worked that day up to $5. Not a bad deal for a little part-time job.

In other news, I've not been to the gym this past week because Ainsley has to do her doggy rehab three times a week and I just can't fit it all in. I truly need to start getting up earlier in the morning. The flexibility at my primary job means that I tend to sleep until about 8:30, work all day and then cram everything else in in the evenings. I should probably get up at 6:30, go to the gym, then to work and then do everything else. Michael is working an insane amount of hours, playing in two bands, and taking care of family business so we rarely get to see each other these days. I'll be honest-I miss him. I understand, I'm totally cool with it, but I do miss him. We're used to having a sit-down dinner nearly every night, and that hasn't happened in a while. Plus, we try to do all of our hanging out late at night when we should be sleeping. As a result, we're both walking dead most of the time. Add to that the three shows that [DARYL] is playing in the next three days and...*yawn*. Ha...I just undertook another job, too. That's OK, Sunday we have NOTHING planned except brunch at La Duni.

I ran us wayyy over our cell phone minutes last month...like $100 over. That really sucks. Cell phone companies are evil bandits.

Oh, and Ainsley has not recovered well from her surgery. The ligaments that they had to reattach have become very stiff and she doesn't have a very good gait. I've been told to take her someplace hilly 3-4 times a week and make her walk up inclines repeatedly to force her to stretch out those ligaments. We have become well-acquainted with the dog park and trails at White Rock as a result. Man, that place is a meat market. Guys will stop their bicycles on the bike trail to ask what kind of dog Ainsley is and if we come to the park often. Last week, I feigned a phone call from Michael ("My boyfriend") just to get away from a guy. So, if anyone is looking for a good place to meet the boys, I would highly recommend heading out that direction. Back to Ainsley, though--she may have to have another surgery on the ligaments to correct the problem if the hill-climbing doesn't help. I have to say that I feel like a right idiot running up and down inclines repeatedly. I look like an obsessive/compulsive to passers-by I'm sure.

So, that's that. I need to do a little freshening up before my happy hour meet-up with Miss mojobasket, or else I will surely be wearing every second of that four hours of sleep last night across my face.

XOXO
