I am so unbelievably tired today. I had my follow-up appointment this morning, another anti-viral treatment for the mono, and my doctor told me that I may feel OK now but if I don't rest then it will bite me in the ass later. I actually don't even feel OK now. I am wiped out. Part of that has to do with the fact that I watched movies with a couple of my fellow [DARYL] widows last night while the boys were at practice, a term I use loosely, because we all know that "practice" translates roughly to "1 hour of practice and 4 hours at the bar". Anyway, we watched "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason", which is OK but not great. I had a good time, though, and am glad that we all get along so well and can spend time together. I wish I had more girlfriends in Dallas, though. Denton and Fort Worth, where most of my good friends are located, are too far to drive to just hang out most of the time. And the one good friend who lives in Dallas, Christy, is a cardiologist, which means she's always on call and can rarely make plans. I adore Cami and Dulce, but I kind of wish I had a couple of nearby friends that weren't so connected to my boyfriend. Does that make sense? I'd like to be more independent that way, but it's hard to meet new people.
I'm liking the Stars album more and more. And I'm trying to burn up my lunch break by writing so I'm not tempted to walk over to Seasick Records and spend a small fortune. Michael suggested that I get a CD trade thing going with a couple of my friends. I think I have some pretty good stuff to offer (if you're into the Trash Can Sinatras and the mid-90s 4AD catalogue, that is) and most of the stuff I want is stuff everyone has, but I just never got around to picking up. I should post a list of CDs I have and CDs I want, but I'm probably too disorganized to ever get around to cataloguing my collection. Maybe once I get some shelves this summer and actually organize all my CDs. IKEA, I cannot wait for you.
I'm going to a Rangers game with Michael tonight. I have never been to one and I'm kind of excited even though I'm not really a big sports fan. And I'm going to Arkansas with my parents in two weeks to visit my grandmother. A 9-hour road trip with the folks...now that oughta be a good time.
Back to work....
