Happy Labor Day!
Today and yesterday the Studly Husband and I got to spend all morning at the beach. We were trying to remember the last time we actually got to go to the beach two days in a row, and it was at least two years ago, maybe three. What a delight! The weather was perfect both days, and today we saw possibly the largest school of dolphin I have ever seen. I kept ducking under the water trying to hear them talk, but all I could hear was bubbles and waves. (Which was also pleasant.)
From the lemons to lemonade department, exactly one year ago a tree fell on our house during Hurricane Ernesto, thus spawning my husband's burgeoning career as woodcarver and staff maker.
I finally got motivated and scheduled classes at the store, something I have wanted to do for a long time, but since school kicked my behind so soundly the last year and a half, it had to wait. Now it's time and people seem pretty excited about coming to classes and I'm excited to be doing them.
The store has been on the road three times this summer, vending at festivals and gatherings, which has been a blast. We have one more fall festival coming up and then we hunker down for the cold weather.
I am officially finished with school. I may go back for more, but I am taking this semester off no matter what, so I can do things like catch up on the housework I have neglected for the last three semesters, lol. Thank goodness I have a supportive spouse :)
