Helping out a friend, again.

A few days ago, the Missus posted an earnest plea for help. She got shockingly few replies. I thought it might be because she has fewer TAs/GSIs on her friends list than I do. So I am quoting her post in its entirety, hoping that some of the closed mouths might open and help a friend in need:
There are few things more terrifying in my daily life now than a roomful of bored teenagers staring at me. This is what my life is now.

For those folks on my friends list who TA, regularly lead workshops, etc., how do you handle the stare? Up until now, I haven't battled it on the consistent basis that I'll be facing now in my new job. It will definitely help to know that more than five times out of 10, I'll have been invited into the room to do my thing. Someone in there wants to hear what I have to say. But, still, the stare. I forgot how piercing apathy can be.

Any thoughts, kids?
