Day 3: In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser-known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom who maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
Going to rec three fanworks. One musical piece, bentos, and one fanart.
First rec is tumblr user ghostdunk's music piece
Kanaya's Big Road Trip. This was used for a visual novel the team I joined did for
hs_worldcup. Has this Americana road trip feel and I think they did it well. They also did
a few more musical pieces , so I recommend checking them out.
Second rec are some
Pokemon theme bentos (specifically Pidove/Tranquill/Unfezant)! Several friends and I run a Pokemon magazine blog and we
did an article about some Pokemon creation fanworks. The blog the original source is from is written in Japanese, but I think it's pretty awesome.
Third rec is another Pokemon one. Stumbled upon
this art of Ariana on my Tumblr dash and thought it's cute and appropriate for the holidays. There needs to be more Ariana art. Tumblr user mostlypersian
did a lot of other Pokemon art so I recommend checking her out!
Day 4: Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"
It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.
Already mentioned in the thread that I did. The feedbacks I did are
for a Roy/Riza story and
a Pokemon one. I do recommend checking those out!
