Interesting setup! I like the idea of the guards all keeping journals, and of Lan Fan reading them as a child. The trip back to Xing has always interested me, so I'm thrilled you wrote this!

Glad you like that idea! I always imagine the guards (at least for the Yao house) to be prideful of their work, so hence journals to keep accounts of their work. And yeah, I wonder how the trip back to Xing will be like, so I came up with some scenarios here and there.

Thanks! I don't remember how I got the idea of Fu getting a journal. Think it's just me thinking it would be neat if Fu and the guards before him kept a journal and wrote what happened.
