So Ignis didn’t know everything. Prompto had known that already, of course, but he still got a kick out of knowing more about a particular topic than Ignis - even if that topic was something small and unimportant like casual restaurants. Grinning and looking just about back to his usual upbeat self, he squirmed around in his seat for a second so he could grab his phone out of his pocket, doing a quick search for the name of a place he thought would work.

“Here!” He held his phone out to Ignis so the other man could see the map and address he’d pulled up. It was nothing special, just like he’d asked for - a fairly well-known chain known for its burgers and extensive drink menu, this particular location about five minutes away. He was pretty sure Ignis had been there a couple times, with him and Noct. That was the appeal of it, to Prompto - it was familiar territory. He practically knew the menu by heart, and not having to think too hard about what he wanted to eat would be one less thing to stress out about.

Not that he wouldn’t find something else to stress out about. But at least it wouldn’t be something as dumb as not being able to decide what burger he wanted.

“D’you need me to turn on navigation? I’m kinda useless with directions, since I don’t drive…” The self-deprecating comment was a little out of place with the cheerful tone of his voice, but Prompto didn’t seem to notice he’d said anything noteworthy. He had already turned away from Ignis to grab his seatbelt.

He certainly didn’t look like he’d just had a near-meltdown only minutes before, and maybe his quick recovery wasn’t an entirely good thing. Something was still nagging at him, scolding him for thinking he was off the hook. One wrong move, that part of him seemed to say, and he’d be right back to that awful panicky place he hated so much. But he wanted this time with Ignis so much, so he tried to shove those thoughts to the back of his mind where he could ignore them. It sort of worked. Mostly.
