With nary a demon in sight, it all played out pretty much the same, didn't it? Poor Sam. Poor Dean. Poor John.

Brilliantly done. It broke my heart in pieces.

I've always found the beating, breaking heart of Supernatural to be its human elements, not its supernatural ones. And the story of Dean and Sam is an inherently tragic one no matter where they are--to me, anyway. I'm glad it worked for you too :)
