"I don't think of you as a mark. But I just don't know how else to…" Eames trails off. *huggles Eames*
Also, I am very hungry now. I want Eames to cook me that meal *g*
I think they are going to be okay. Yay! But it was terrifying while Eames was freaking out over it all, LOL :D And I think the art captured that terror wonderfully in the first piece!
I really liked this - the sense of the two of them growing and changing: Arthur, with his desire for some stability and something of his own, and Eames, trying to figure out what about this "thing" he's doing with Arthur is different from other marks. Eames falling into his characters was heartbreaking. Your writing really drew me right in. Thanks for sharing - this was wonderful.
What I love most about this is how thoroughly you show Eames' behavior patterns: always deferring to Arthur's wants, losing himself in a character--so that the telling part happens for catharsis between the two, not for exposition.
I also really like how he seemed to make Plum a vision of what he misguidedly thought Arthur's fiance was like.

Sincerity, openness, and honesty don't come easy to Eames when he's not in character. He's going to try to work on it though, for Arthur's sake :)
Thank you for the comment, my dear <3
