1. Have been traveling for the past week and a half, with extremely limited internet access during that time. If there has been anything particularly awesome I should know about that occurred in that time, please comment so I know.

2. I've been working on my IBB, though progress has been rather slow due to obvious distractions. Just a quick update on the upcoming deadlines to remind myself:
December 30th: Artist check-in (mandatory)
January 16th: Submission of final drafts and art
January 27th: Posting of art and fic begins

3. I've decided to sign up for Get Your Words out with a target wordcount of 200,000 words for the year. That seems doable considering my previous years of around 140k and 160k. The monthly check in should also help push me towards writing more each month rather than having it all clump around particular challenge deadlines or months (Big Bangs, November, etc).

4. Have been working quite furiously on Gangstermoll as well. I am pleased with how that is progressing, though it is finally hitting me that the story is nearing its conclusion. It fills me with a mix of emotion: amazement, sadness, relief. I always feel a bit melancholy when I finish a novel because I grow quite attached to characters and the world I have developed. In this case, it's been over a year and the largest cast of characters including OC's that I have ever written. I know I will be happy when it is finished and proud of the accomplishment, but I'm not quite ready for the journey to be over. It's such a strange combination of emotions.

I do hope people like the ending--or at least, find it satisfying as something that feels both surprising and inevitable. I also hope that the whole story stands up as a complete novel in addition to being a compelling work in progress/episodic read. I guess my betas and the readers will be the judge when they read it.
