it's stuck in my drunk shrink vault

1. I finished and posted my Steampunk AU, which is good. Now back to concentrating on the next part of Gangstermoll, which is actually about 3/4's done. After I'm done with this part, I'm really going to drill down and write my Popstar!Eames AU, and hopefully have a more substantial draft to my ever patient artist, dumbimps, to look at.

2. The bag meme seems to be making the rounds again. So, hey, what the hell.

My current transitional purse. The fabric's summery, but the construction and shape don't really say summer. I have approximately 3794876 purses, but I do enjoy how roomy this one is. It's from the Rafe for Target collection from--oh, I don't know. Maybe a year ago? It has a fun blue, white, and chocolate striped print on the inside as well.

1. A travel pack of tissues in a tissue cozy I bought on Etsy. I carry tissues everywhere because I'm extremely temperature sensitive, so a temperature differential of two degrees thanks to a gentle breeze will cause my nose to run. The cozy is surprisingly well made for something that cost $2, and the fabric is a charming Morrocan inspired print with gold in it.

2. A pocket mirror. I've been looking on Etsy for a cuter one, but you really can't beat this one for sturdiness and general efficiency.

3. Kate Spade wallet, rather scuffed. I really need to look into cleaning this. It is a magnificent, spacious, and well-made wallet.

4. This is one of the notebooks I carry around with me everywhere to write in when I have a free moment. I've never actually bought a Moleskine because I always end up getting free notebooks at random junctures and use those to write in, instead. I like that this notebook has the rubber band to keep it closed, as well as a holder for the pen, but the paper is extremely thin and has a grey tinge since it's entirely made out of recycled paper. Good for the environment, but not my favorite to actually write on. The pen is from a hotel I stayed at in Washington DC; nice hotel, near Embassy Row and Dupont Circle.

5. Cucumber melon flavored Bath & Body Works antibacterial lotion. I rarely use this as a moisturizer (mostly because I'm not in the habit of moisturizing, even if my skin is dry, so I just forget about it). I use it more for its antibacterial properties when I run out of wet wipes/moist towels to use.

6 & 7. Ever since I started traveling more, I've been extremely conscientious about cleaning my hands; I feel like this is part of why I get sick relatively rarely. I use these wet wipes if it's not convenient for me to use the bathroom at a restaurant to wash my hands, and occasionally just to clean my hands if they get dirty. The first one I got at a Japanese restaurant in New York, the second one I believe I actually brought back from Japan.

8. This is an owl purse holder I got on sale from Target. Basically, you rest the owl part flat on a surface and the rest of it dangles down to form a hook for you to hang your purse on, rather than keeping it in your lap or on the floor. I was dubious about the ability to hold my somewhat heavy purses, but I've used it a few times in restaurants and I have to say the thing is actually quite effective. Also, adorable.

9. I get hungry every four hours, and then turn into a fire breathing monster around hour 5 if I haven't been fed. I always keep some sort of snack bar around to stave off that unfortunate state of affairs until I can reach an actual meal. I usually prefer Luna Bars because they provide more nutrition and satisfy my hunger for at least an hour to two hours, whereas granola bars only provide very temporary respite (30-45 minutes), but I've gone through all the flavors of Luna Bars in the last year, and Nature's Valley is tasty. So I'll stick with these for now.

10. When I was in Beijing, one of my friends was perusing a local grocery store and became extremely excited about the fact that they sold these candy-type things: Hi-Chews. Apparently, the only places he'd ever seen them sold before were in South America (he'd traveled throughout it extensively) and now, China. Anyway, I bought a few packs and was hooked. When I got back to New York and saw them at an Asian grocery, I knew I had to have it. This particular Hi-Chew pack is mango flavored, because I love mangos and mango-flavored everything.

And there it is. A look into the depths of my soul handbag.
