Experience of my life!!

Words can't describe how I feel right now. The album turned out better than I could have ever anticipated. I've been playing these same songs for over a year and every song that we recorded gave me goosebumps from head to toe. It was amazing. There's nothing negative about this experience and I can't wait until I have that mastered copy in my cd player, booming from the speakers.

Day 1: When we first pulled up we weren't sure if we were in the right place. From the outside, it looked like a small farm house but inside was like a log cabin. We made ourselves at home and unpacked all the food we brought which mainly consisted of pizza pops. The first day went great. Brad got all 14 drum tracks down the first night and gradually got drunker and drunker towards the end. He was hilarious! I've never seen him drunk like that before. He had Shane almost peeing his pants. Night time was scary seeing as how they kept warning me about the cougars and bears that like to wonder the area. I didn't leave the porch without my flashlight! We ended the night with the movie Saw, which was really creepy. The producer, John Peters, was super awesome! He's such a nice guy and was totally enjoying the music. He has some back up vocals with us and he wanted to jam out with Chris and make a super cool solo for one of the songs. He got right into it and started jumping around the room. He rules!

Day 2: We made a huge breakfast then tossed the football around for a bit. The water out there smelled like metal and rotten eggs so when Brad showered he smelled like eggs for most of the day. We were pretty pissed that we had to smell him all day. John started the recording that day but had to leave to go to the Opera with his wife. That's when we met Joe, the other producer who was supper awesome. After two songs and alot of alcohol in me, he convinced me to do some back ups on a song called Bloody Nice which is pretty much about abusive relationships. That was fun to record! Joe had so many creative ideas. After completing about 5 songs we called it quits and watched the Amittyville Horror 2; The Possession. When we all crashed I guess I fell asleep first and started snoring loudly (as I always do when I'm drunk!). In the morning I woke up with a child's Winnie the Pooh foam chair on my head so apparently I "poohed" the bed. ;P Fuckers. John said we had the most hard alcohol out of any of the bands he recorded. :P

Day 3: We made a trip to the corner store for some bacon and made world's greasiest eggs for breakfast. We pounded out the songs and were only 4 away from the complete album. John recorded us and bought himself a micky of whiskey so we could all get pissed and chill out. After a couple drinking games, Joe showed up just to hang out so we all went outside in the dark and played some drunken football. I had my flashlight as the only means of light, so it was pretty interesting trying to find the ball in the dark, especially since there was a crazy thick fog as well. Later we ditched the game and went for some drunken hiking in the trails and got completely covered in snarl balls. Shane and I stayed outside for a bit and started howling back at the coyotes. After it sounded like it was close, we decided we better shut up and go inside. That night ended with Sin City and Chris smoking his head on the slanted roof in the bedroom.

Day 4: At this point we were all pretty tired from the excitement, partying and drinking for 3 days but we only had 4 songs left to complete. I realized in the morning that I managed to loose an entire pack of smokes in the woods the night before, and being too paranoid about bears or whatever was lurking in there, I didn't even bother trying to find them. We went back to the store where I cashed in my scratch ticket that I won $20 on and bought myself some smokes and Capn' Crunch for breakfast. For most of the day we played alot of card games between each song while Shane laid down the vocal tracks. We actually finished early and we all felt pretty relieved. We packed everything up, thanked John and drove home. Just before I was leaving, John stopped me and told me that he thought I was an all around extremely talented musician. I felt so flattered, especially since it was coming from a producer.

I'm still so excited, even after all that work. I feel like I made a big step and I'm just so impressed at the quality of the album and how every song turned out even better than I imagined. I'm so eager to get it exposed and have all my friends hear it because I really am proud of it and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we all do.
