I love G4's Duty Free TV. Almost every day at 2:00, my ass can be found on the couch watching Unbeatable Banzuke and Ninja Warrior. It's gotten so that when Kaity and Emilie get home around 2:30, they ask if Ninja Warrior is on and sit down to watch it. =D
Anyway, I was watching Banzuke today and there was this event called Daruma 7, where a daruma is on top of seven blocks. The blocks have to be knocked away until the daruma lands on the platform. Guys usually bring their wives to help them out, and this one guy had his wife (who was pregnant) and little daughter, who was three at the absolute most. When he started she said "ganbate!" IT WAS SO FUCKING CUTE. And then he won. It was awesome.
And then on Ninja Warrior, the former champ, Akiyama was back! He'd trained so hard he'd actually fucked his knee. They said it had been three years since he'd made it past the First Stage. I actually started screaming at him in Japanese when he was so fucking close and the timer was running out. He was climbing up the rope to the platform and I was all "IKE IKE IKE IKE." (ike means go, which I learned from Strawberry 100% XD) It didn't seem right to yell at the TV in English, you know? Anyway, he made it! When the girls got home, I told them Akiyama had made it and they got excited. They wanna see him win too. I'm such a bad influence.
