Peter and i went to class yesterday to learn about the surgery and after care etc. The surgery is on August 21st, and I think that's going to be a very long day. It takes three hours, and with the prep etc I guess I'm going to be waiting a good 4 to 5 hours. There is a special waiting room, and apparently the staff there are very helpful and can get you updates. A looooong day.

And this one is just for amazement. I went to an exhibition of Ron Mueck's sculpture at the Hirshhorn in Washington DC a while ago and was absolutely blown away by his work. This is a link to some pictures of the exhibition he has in Russia at the moment. The only one I have seen before is of the old, bald man sitting in the corner, but I will never forget walking round a corner and seeing him there, so lifelike he could have got up and walked away, so huge I would have had a heart attack if he had! Apparently Ron Mueck used to work in special effects.
