After saying goodbyt to Sternen Auggen, we were off on our travels again- this time to Tubingen, some 230km away.
More lovely scenery, more strange German snacks (kangaroo shaped crisps!) and with Nick's expert driving we were soon at Lilly and Enricos lovely apartment. Lots of tasty treats, Depeche Mode goodies that I was very envious of and chat - our hosts were very kind indeed to us.
We had time to check out the venue and for the boys to complete their soundcheck (and meet their next generation of fans)
The Venue was outstanding, inside and out - UK could learn a lot from places like this!
Back to Lilly's and some time to relax and get ready together before the gig in the evening.
Really enjoyed the support band - The Beauts, sad to hear of their untimely split, but excited that they are pursuing new projects. It was nice to get to spend some time with Viktor on the rare occasions that I was on my own at the merch too - really friendly people in Tubingen, I honestly think that some of my favourite times on this tour were backstage :)

On to the gig - suitably dark and moody, with a crowd who once again were clearly already familiar with some of the music. A lovely warm response and positive feedback all round!

After getting to meet the lovely Sims and Melanie, and an impromptu photo shoot in the cellar it was time to go back to Lilly's. An early start the next weekend, and giving our thanks for the thoughtful hospitality over the course of the tour we were on our way back home. A stop in Luxembourg for more strange painted boiled eggs (didnt ask for them, got given them anyway) and we arrived back in Calais early enough to get an earlier sailing home. After stopping in Leicster with Neal, returning Nick to Notts and Simon to the lovely Lisa we were on our way back to York, arriving home after midnight. Completely exhausted, but with new friends and unforgettable experience. Can't wait till next time!
