Macs and PCs have slightly different keyboards, and subsequently, slightly different keyboard functions. To make those symbols, I have to use the Option key. I guess a PC's Alternate is pretty much the equivalent of Option, but I wasn't totally sure.

We have a power mac quick solver 2002 (I didn't even know what it was called; I had to ask my sister) and an iMac.

The characters display correctly in Mozilla 1.5 and Opera 7.02 under WinXP.
