May I just interject that the reason Syfy canceled Caprica and keeps original movies is because Caprica's ratings sucked (i.e. the fans didn't tune in for live viewings) and original movies don't?
And I'll be the first to say, I LOVED Caprica and can't STAND original movies. But the show just didn't generate a proper audience, unfortunately.
And because of Syfy's history with Warehouse 13 and Eureka, Tuesday nights were going to be potentially a better fit for SGU (and therefore give Caprica a stronger lead-in).
Meh, never impressed me that much. These seems like a wise step since the plot is soo boring. They should have focused on Tamara more - her Cap City episode was amazing.
*clings to Tamara* Word. I've been very let down by the episodes since it came back - too many plotlines I just don't care about. There was potential and I think it could've gone somewhere really good, but it was taking a while to find its way and probably losing viewers every week. (The scheduling and long hiatus didn't help.)
That said, OH MY GOD "Blood and Chrome" actually offends me with how stupid and pointless and fanboyish it sounds. If those are the options, I'd take "Caprica" or nothing.
Too bad. What I don't understand is, how can you order a show that is pretty much defined by a slow story/character development and then judge its impact after a couple of episodes? Did they solely count on the BSG fans and were surprised that they calculated wrong? It's not like they even tried to gather a wider audience, ridiculously long mid-season break in its very first season and all.
The show had its weaknesses but also lots of potential, especially long-term. I can't believe I sat through episodes and episodes of slow build-up that won't pay off at all anymore.
Also, withholding the last couple of episodes till next year? To gain 3 more fans through re-runs and lose another 100 members of their audience through another hellish hiatus? Brilliant.
Exactly what I think. It's so annoying to spend all this time warming slowly up with the show and than being left standing without a continuation or even a proper ending..

Seriously, guys. Terrible choice. But hey! Keep making those awesome original movies. *eyeroll*

Plus Teryl Rothery finally showed up again, argh.
I wish they had focused more on Zoe, though :\.
